Monin legal
Privacy Policy
Monin is a collaborative expense tracker that helps people organize shared spending. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Information we collect
- Google account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive the name, email address, profile image, and account identifier that Google makes available through OAuth.
- Profile information. You may provide a username during onboarding.
- Financial organization data. We store the pocket names and descriptions, transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, types, and contributor or observer relationships that you create.
- Technical and security data. We process session cookies, authentication tokens, browser information, and basic request logs to keep the service secure and functioning.
How we use information
We use information to:
- authenticate you and maintain your signed-in session;
- provide shared pockets, records, summaries, and invitations;
- show data to the contributors and observers you authorize;
- respond to support requests and communicate about the service;
- protect Monin, our users, and our infrastructure from abuse; and
- improve reliability and understand aggregate product usage.
How information is shared
Monin does not sell your personal information or use your expense records for advertising. We share information only when needed to operate the service: with Google to complete sign-in, with hosting and database providers that process data on our instructions, with people you explicitly invite to a pocket or grant observer access, or when required by law or to protect safety and security.
Google user data
Monin's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google account data only to authenticate your Monin account, display your account details, and associate your activity with the correct account. We do not sell Google user data, use it for targeted advertising, or transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide Monin, comply with law, or protect users.
Storage, security, and retention
Account and application data is stored in access-controlled services. We use encrypted connections and limit access to what is needed for support and operations. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please do not add highly sensitive information that is not needed for expense tracking.
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time. Some records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
Your choices and rights
You may review or update information in Monin, stop using the service, or request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information. Email grandonk457@gmail.com and include the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Cookies and similar technologies
Monin uses essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your display preferences, and protect requests. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Children's privacy
Monin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Monin changes. The updated date above will change when we do, and material changes will be highlighted when practical. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to grandonk457@gmail.com.
